Satria Dewa: Gatotkaca (2022)
Satria Dewa: Gatotkaca (2022) is an Indonesian feature film about a young man who inherits god-like powers to fight against ancient evil villains. This is the first movie in the Satria Dewa Universe, with more films planned under this IP.
in this project, I work as vfx generalist where I responsible to involve in all aspects of visual effects production such modeling, simulation, lighting and compositing.
this shot depict that the man’s ear was get cut from an arrow. at this shot, I responsible to make the cut effect of the ear, add the blood splash and add an arrow.
first thing that I do is replace the real ear of the character with the 3D ear and make tear simulation in the 3D software.
After that, I added an arrow that had already been created. This arrow was made by my colleague and will be used in all the scenes requiring a 3D arrow.
lastly, I add blood splash from the ear.
In this shot, my responsibility was to add an arrow to the scene. The arrow was added in the visual effects stage because it would be unleashed, and it’s easier to control its direction in post-production. To add the arrow, I first had to track the camera movement and the character's hand movement. After that, the tracked camera data was imported into the 3D software, where I adjusted the arrow's movement, and finally composited it into the live-action footage.
